Arthouse?

When I first saw Naveen Andrews, he was playing a British Asian country-western singer in a fun, strange little indie flick called Wild West. Now he’s playing a scientist who castrates zombies and collects the castoffs in Planet Terror, one half of the Rodriguez/Tarantino splatterfest Grindhouse, which opens in the U.S. today. You’ve come a long way, baby.

“I know that Robert was aware of ‘Lost,’ but Quentin was and is a big fan of the show,” Andrews said in a recent… interview. “He said to me at the read-through of the script that my character and Josh Holloway’s character, Sawyer, were his favorites on the show… It kind of surprised me. You don’t think you’re a part of popular culture when you’re an individual that’s involved with it.” [Link]

Lots of great photos here.

I thought the film fucking rocked. Naveen’s part was great in the opening, what with the balls. First saw the dude in Bombay boys. Don’t watch Lost anymore but good on him. He’s a great addition to any cast.
