Boogie wha?
A dance team earns my eternal gratitude for playing ‘Rump Shaker,’ ‘Freek-a-Leak’ and ‘Here Comes the Hotstepper’ on Boogie Woogie, an Indian TV show more used to Hindi film songs. The old-skool judges look traumatized, while the younger ones are into it, like Samrat Chakrabarti’s beatboxing talent show judge from Loins of Punjab:
I learned bhangra from a Punjabi friend and hip-hop from a Filipino roommate who did a mean Michael Jackson impersonation. Here’s the papaya dance sweeping the Philippines:

That was impressive. The lead dancer looked remarkably tiny and energetic, but I had no idea she was just a girl until the very end. She’s amazing!
Why don’t the pseudo SASA contests ever have anything like this? That girl was beyond anything I’ve ever seen here!

Just as an aside, my gf’s uncle makes Boogie Woogie (Ken Ghosh).
