The Man Booker Prize announced its relaunch today as Bookr with a brand-new, Web 2.0 business model:

1. Find a photogenic, good-but-not-great minority writer
2. Slap a sari on the cover
3. ???
4. Profit!

Instead of using a judging panel, the Bookr community chooses winners using a patented formula called Tar Brush Rank. The site is still in stealth mode, but Sir Manfred Manley von Isle-of-Man, head of the Man Group PLC, promises to ‘totally get you a beta invite for all the Ajax-y goodness.’

American users complain that the site has not yet launched outside the Commonwealth. Sir Manfred declined to comment on rumors that hackers stuffed the ballot. The next winner is apparently a white man with talent.
