Boycott cheap perfume
Now that the Sabhnanis have been convicted of torturing their maids, perhaps those of us in thrall to inexpensive vapors could boycott the brands which fund their cutting, beating ways:
- Attitude
- Blu Treasures
- Decent
- Eternal Love
- Friends
- Indecent
- Just Perfect
- Let’s Be Friends
- XLouis
A few of these would comprise a haiku of irony. And if you can’t find it in your heart to boycott these vile folks, perhaps you could stop wearing cheap perfumes in general. It would be a gift.
Horrific maid abuse happens in Saudi Arabia, Malaysia and India too, but the last big U.S. desi crime boycott I remember focused on the Pasand restaurant chain during the Reddy sex abuse case.

I’ll join in the boycott of cheap perfume.
(My perfume of choice has always been cooking vanilla, rubbed against the wrist.)
What grotesque perversions of the American Dream.
Will their fortunes be liable to civil lawsuits? Did Reddy lose his money?
How could anyone have ever trusted people who make a fragrance (that might be too strong a word) called “Let’s Be Friends”? It reminds me of the 1970s SNL fake ad for “Hey You.”
