Brasilian Bandra

With a new playground and capoeira lessons for kids, the Bandra seashore is getting more kid-friendly. It’s all for the children’s:

Hand-rotated Ferris wheel of dubious vintage:

Horsie rides:

Brand-new playground:

Capoeira lessons for kids:

Violence in front, pilgrimage in back:

And, of course, sex ed:

Is our children’s learning?

They’d learn more if they had a copy of Lynne Truss’s Eats, Shoots, and Leaves: Why, Commas Really Do Make a Difference!

There’s something appropriate about Capoeira being performed in Bandra — with the colonial Portuguese legacy and all. I knew this girl from Bombay (maybe Bandra — she had a portuguese last name) who was taking Capoeira classes while in grad school in the american midwest.

Lit Safari - Gaaah. It’s “Eats, shoots & leaves”.

Manish - Is that the same playground which was built over (or in place of) the doggie park ? (Link to a related article here).

Sounds like the same one, it’s on the Carter Road promenade.
