The base for Tibetan prayer wheels in Central Square, Cambridge, say ‘dream’ in Hindi, Punjabi, Tamil and Gujarati. Sometimes I have to pinch myself to make sure it’s not Berkeley:

Bonus Bostonia: Apple’s new Boylston Ave. store is its second largest, after Regent St. in London:

hope you did’nt get too close to the prayer wheel in central square- i usually pee there after downing bass at the middle east down the road. dang -dont matter how much i drink, i can’t get the damn wheels to turn.
Yay for D Cafe! :)
Wonder who wrote the word for dream in Tamil, it is misspelt. It is kanavu and not kaNavu!!
It’s OK, Tamil has a two “n”s too many as it is. Keep the nari and get rid of the double/triple sullis
The Punjabi is misspelled too– there’s an ‘oo’ matra where there should be none.
Manish, in Punjabi it IS Supna, not Sapna. Sapna is a Hindi word ! The matra they’ve (correctly) featured is called “lainkad” and for is “o”, not “oo”.
Never knew, thanks. Mostly I spent Punjabi class learning lines for complimenting village girls on the clarity of their wells and the health of their oxen :)
He he, and what did the girls learn ;).
Mock indignation I think :)
do boston area posters/readers/lurkers ever get together?
We attempted a meetup which turned out to be a snow day, and just one dedicated reader showed. But we can try again for spring :)
