Bring in da Func

Avaaz in Williamsburg last night was live music overdrive. My Pet Dragon crooned emo alt.rock while Reena Shah writhed classically on stage:

The singer from Shair & Func wore the shortest minidress since the ’60s:

Sank and Shree threw down drum ‘n bass between sets. But by then it was in fact past my bedtime.

The preceding band, Barvluster, had a curly-haired Seth Rogen lookalike scatting Tibetan or Tuvan chants, huffing on a bagpipe resembling a hummingbird. The backing band was laying down a straightforward jazz groove, and the combo actually worked.

Yay Reena and Todd! They’re both creative contributors to Sita Sings the Blues.
