Ciao Bella

An acquaintance from Berkeley is now spinning roots reggae in Brooklyn, and looking very rainbow-Spidey.

Bella Bakrania… [was] a radio DJ for seven years at the University of California-Berkeley’s KALX-FM (90.7)… She [is] a mild-mannered environmental-engineering consultant by day, making sure groundwater is safe by measuring contamination levels… She also has worked for 10 years with Amnesty International as a spokeswoman on issues of torture and genocide… she calls [her father] “Indian Presley” because he’s in an Elvis tribute band… [Link]

Check out DJ Bella’s mix and a video clip of an interview. She spins with Karsh Kale and DD Pesh tonight at Kush in Manhattan (Thursday Sep. 14, 10pm, 191 Chrystie bet. Stanton/Rivington, $5 cover).

That is hot. Certain things are hot. Chilli sauce is hot and so is the sun. And an Indian lady who spins reggae is sexy as hell.

Do you actually know that beautiful female specimen of the Macaquis communum specie??

She’s hotter than Gujarat pepper, yet sweeter than Cashmere wool!
