    I clicked the link to the article and was glad to read that Lakshmi has a near perfect set of “normal ” organs that will continue to function even after the operation. Its good to know that the operation is happening in India and I hope it all goes well for the little girl.Reminds me of the verse from “Ommar Khayyam”

    “….”They sneer at me for leaning all awry;
    What! did the Hand then of the Potter shake?”

    Whoever wrote this page does not know enough and has made a mistake. the thisislondon article that rohin showed me said:

    Poonam, who gave birth to Lakshmi on the celebration day of the four-armed Hindu goddess of wealth and prosperity after whom the new born was named. Pls see the picture on the following site where she is depicted with 4 arms:

    2 hands with lotuses and the other two with coins falling from them or holding two pots with coins falling from them as we were taught to portray it in Bharatanatyam.

    Bless her soul, for such a sweet smile could melt anyone’s heart. Not being Hindu, is Vishnu the same as Lakshmi?

    Lakshmi is Vishnu’s consort and is the Hindu Goddess of wealth. :)
