Dollar pander

Presidential candidate Mitt Romney, who just gave a speech on his Mormonism, is pandering to evangelicals with a monotheist proclamation on dollar coins. It’s much like his chest-beating on ‘doubling Guantánamo’:

… [Romney] says he’s going to move “In God We Trust” to the front of the new dollar coins instead of the side. [National Review]

But Mormonism apparently has polytheist elements:

Mormon theology is polytheistic, teaching that the Gods organized the universe from pre-existing, eternal, uncreated chaotic elements. [Andrew Sullivan commenter]

Michael Newdow would doggedly gnaw this guy’s position to death in a courtroom.

    TigerYogiJi,
Oh come on, give my boy Romney a chance.

Did you see what he said?

“I’ll make sure that our future is defined not by the letters ACLU, but by the letters USA.”

This is so bad..it’s actually good.

Didn’t know where else to report this:

Trying to get to ub from an internet cafe in Goa came up with a “not authorized” msg…..

Does a persons religion or faith matter as long as he does his job good? This week in a meeting he was telling the crowd that his religion will not affect his work..I dont know politicians are all the time trying to concentrate on silly issues throwing dirt on one another, rather than give voters their clearcut policies on opinions on important things and focus on their work and good that they did or do to the world.
Clinton personally messed up his image with monica lewinsky but the economy was great during his presidency..
Bush is a devoted husband but then the war and economy and all that is a mess..
obama and hillary have their own short comings as well as positive points but what is important is how much bad can those shortcomings do to the country and how much do their negative qualities influence their decision making.

Neale: maybe it’s all the criticism of the Indian gov’t and its stupid nanny Net blocking. Or maybe they know we’re sweet, sweet mental pr0n :)
