Deepak Chopra on ‘Colbert’
The king of Hindu sex talk promoted a new book in the middle of the virgin birth. It’s a match made in heaven:
Spacey Chopra and prickly Colbert make for a strange combination. In a moment of disarming honesty, Chopra says:
Colbert: Are you a prophet?
Chopra: If you spell it ‘p-r-o-f-i-t…’
Colbert: Do you exfoliate?
Chopra: If you didn’t exfoliate, you’d have leathery skin, you’d be like a crocodile…
Colbert: … do you mean when I die, I go up to clouds, and there’s a pearly gate, and an old man with a beard, and…
Chopra: Well, if you want, you can upgrade the illusion… Hell costs more because it’s more interesting.

I hadn’t ever listened to Deepak Chopra before, and had dismissed him as some sort of exotic shrink for the rich and famous. He might be that and more, but I have to say I was quite impressed with his quick comebacks during the interview. Maybe they’re just recycled versions of stuff he’s been spouting for years, but I have to say he held his own with Colbert.
And reading my comment above… It looks like I have to say “I have to say”.
