Heels of glory

Barnaly Pande is a British plant geneticist at UC Davis who leads a second life on the competitive ballroom circuit. She and her female dance partner won a dance competition in NYC last week:

Ms. Wojtasiak, in tuxedo tails, with her 31-year-old partner, Barnaly Pande, in a silver dress, won the ballroom championship last Saturday in the 5-Boro Dance Challenge, the first international same-sex competition held in New York… Unlike their counterparts, same-sex partners are free to switch leads, even mid-dance… not all the contestants are homosexual, and some compete professionally with opposite-sex partners. Camille Wojtasiak, with an MBA from the University of California, Barnaly Pande, a PhD in genetics and Mo McDonald are a threesome — no, not that way… Camille [dances]… mostly Latin with Mo and the more romantic dances with Barnaly… [Link]

Barnaly and Mo are heterosexual. They are part of Sacramento Dancesport because we pride ourselves on being open to all… [Link]

Pande also competes with a male partner on a different circuit. A girl-on-girl mambo dancing geneticist. Hello, Dr. Christmas Jones! This hits so many fantasies at once, I don’t even know where to begin
