Here’s that excellent tango, salsa, flamenco and swing medley from Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd. The dancers in ‘Pyaar Ki Ek Kahaani Suno (Listen to a Love Story)’ are Minissha Lamba and Abhay Deol. Note the hip spin, dead drop and stylish dips:

It was more impressive on the big screen, and it wouldn’t win any awards at a salsa competition, but it’s damn good for a Bollywood film.

Random thoughts while enjoying chai with mirchi-masala aamlate.
1. I especially liked the ‘casper’ move at the end.
2. this would be eminently suited for a horror spoof with zombies doing the dancing - limbs coming off and bending with suitable creaks. Much merriment.
3. What happened to good wholesome wifebeaters. Purple kameez and tight pants .. -snort-
4. Deol..? is this another fruit of Dharamji’s loins? The guy’s spelunkers seem to be an adventurous sort.
btw - you may have just convinced me in trying out this salsa class. though the thought of me planting my size 11 planks in any manner of rythm around anyone’s dainty tootsies is a bit scary. Ve shall seee.

Yes, this is yet another fruit of the Deol tree. His chaddis are clearly not in a knot.
Do try. It’s lots of fun. But be warned, it takes time for men to learn enough patterns to be decent.

Here is a song from a recent Telugu film, one of the salseros is Raju Sundaram, Prabhu Deva’s elder brother. I couldn’t find the full version of that song.
Cant argue with your personal beliefs and I admit to little knowledge about the technicalities of any dance but I still find the above link to be more aesthetically appealing. It’s a couple dancing with each other in harmony. The link you posted is entertaining, but to me it’s just some guys showing their moves. It might be technically superior but it’s cold. It could all be how the routine was choreographed and then captured on film, but I’d still vote for the kids above.
It is decent choreography for a Bollyflick.
Would’ve hit gold if they had the queen of spin Magna Gopal doing her thing.

BTW, If you want to learn salsa, better start with dance lessons on Youtube (There are loads of them). Because, some of the instructors move quickly from one step to another and its kinda difficult to follow them.

My hopes arent high from the first lesson I attended. I learnt what sounded like the coombaya position and some other position that involve standing splay legged and arms spread wide. i felt very vulnerable. Mr Deol and Mr Vij dont have to worry about any competition from me. I wont be plucking no babies from any corners. It does look like a load of fun though.
