Comedian Carlos Mencia barely updates the Apu-of-the-Simpsons stereotype in this sketch full of racist stereotypes (via SM comment):

Mencia uses the standard dodge of being equal-opportunity offensive, but this Hindu shopkeeper with a turban-hat and no beard, with that chintzy, fake, racist Peter Sellers idea of an Indian accent, and a bindi in his forehead, it just doesn’t fly. It’s not only more insulting to small minorities because most viewers have hardly any personal experience with desis, it’s just inaccurate. Racist humor deserves loving care.

The comedian does subvert the racism in two ways: the shopkeeper dishes it out instead of just passively receiving abuse, and the bindi turns out to be something else… something else entirely. Love it!
