Konnie holds a torch for China
A Tibet protester tried to wrestle the Olympic torch away from Bangla Brit TV presenter Konnie Huq in Notting Hill today. The protester appeared to be white, not ethnic Tibetan. The struggle:
‘… as I was running with the torch a guy broke out from the crowd and… tried to wrestle the torch off me. I was determined to hang on… I was a bit bashed about but I guess that’s par for the course in such a little brawl…’ [Link]

Free Tibet, Stop the Genocide Olympics, stop the kowtowing of Western, India, and Nepalese governments to Chinese political pressure. Make China accountable for its human rights violations…konnie or no konnie. It is quite appalling to watch George Bush, Gordon Brown and others keep mum on this issue. Only Sarkozy has come out strongly against Chinese hegemony and Anglea Merkel, the Germany chancellor.

Konnie was the token brown. Quite what a childrens TV presenter has to do with the Olympics I don’t know, but they needed a multi-culti rep from the ‘Asian’ side of London.

Why don’t they just divide the Olympics between several venues in Europe? That would maintain the Olympic spirit and send PROC a message.
