Lands End

The Portuguese-storied tropical paradise that is Lands End Park in Bombay. Mornings here are lovely and nights even more so: you can make out dim shapes: the white salwars of necking couples in fort ruins, the moon between ghostly palm trees, the murmur of white surf and the spotlights of night work on the Worli sea link.

Sea Rock Hotel, the only place in Bandra with a club not subject to the 1 am curfew. Jai Maharashtra!

These days it’s nonstop monsoon wetting

Taj Lands End, site of tech conventions and fashion shows

Ruins of an old Portuguese fort

Lands End Park; couples come to nuzzle, even women in full burkhas

The ledge at top left is a make-out spot (look closely)

The Worli sea link as it is today…

… and as it will be, Calatrava-style

lovely pictures. Though the clouds in them are peaceful. Unlike the ones I see from my window right now.
