‘Mumbai Salsa’

This retread sounds like the poor man’s Metro meets Dirty Dancing, with the graphics ripped from Cocktail:

Said Vikram, “It was a minute-and-a-half dance sequence in the film and we wanted it to look really good. So we had extensive salsa training for 40 days…” Mumbai Salsa is a discotheque where the characters take refuge because they want to run away from their loneliness. [Link]

Is it some rule of the movie-making universe that most movies involving salsa have to totally suck?

Doubt the suckage? Feast your eyes:

The title track is about as close to salsa as the Chipmunks are to the Stones:

    Manish,
Vaat? You don’t like “Shall we dance” ? or “Along came Polly “, or “Kal ho na ho” ;-)- though to be fair salsa had a brief but pivotal cameo only in these

Heh.. it’s a perfect Hindi movie.. Unoriginal, free of substance, glossy and a ton of actors and actresses trying to look white
