Now is the time when we must dance (updated)

Tunisian-German rapper Bushido raps over a Hindi melody in this low-rent video for ‘Bei Nacht (At Night) — Bollywood Remix.’ Here’s a machine translation of the lyrics (thanks, Shireen):

Bushido was born to a Tunisian father, whom he first came to know at the age of 26, and a German mother, with whom he grew up in the Tempelhof district of former West Berlin… He is often criticized in the media for his allegedly sexist, nationalist and racist lyrics… [Link]

The original is ‘Humko Humi Se Churalo’ (Steal Me From Myself) from Mohabbatein (Loves), the film which gifted Shamita Shetty’s ripped abs to the world in ‘Sharara Sharara (thanks, BLT and khoof):

On one track, Bushido quotes lyrics from a Kurdish-German rapper named Azad, which means the same thing in Hindi:

Azad Azadpour (born… in Sanandaj, Iran)… is a German rapper. Azad is a Kurdish given name meaning “Freedom.” [Link]

Damn, I’m proud of myself as I can’t claim to be an expert on Bollywood.

no man. i know this. it’s from mohabbatein. i hear the sequel jalebeian is being released soon. it will star abhishek bachan and he will have a song with a giant jalebi. it has a tragic ending. his body hair will get stuck in the jalebi and he will become one with the jalebi, like the fly. then aishwarya rai will come and shoot him with a shotgun and he will die with a big hole in his head , with the wind going through his head making a sound like rooo rooo. rai will go hooo hooo.

Y’all sure know how to crush a person’s dreams. Dreams of joining the Bollywood trivia circuit that is.
