Salman waits

There are certain friends-with-benefits to playing the celebrity author game. Salman Rushdie cashed in with a cameo in a video for Scarlett Johansson’s vanity album. The track is ‘Falling Down,’ a Tom Waits cover. It’s probably safe to call it a step up from playing Helen Hunt’s ob/gyn. He shows up at 3:05:

It’s such a great picture; Sir Salman is the prettiest one in frame.

Awwww, Filmiholic, I sort of like Scarlett. She, despite her current starlet status, retains a bit of GhostTown geekitude. Also, as one of the most unmusical people around (me and her both, apparently), I ike that quiet ambient music and froggy, overproduced voice.

*Seeing Sir Salman next to all those young things kind of grosses me out. Sour grapes, as a female oldie, or just good common sense?

**One of the benefits of these kind of pics is that, if you are not young, famous, or starletty, you can say to yourself: ‘what’s the point of being a famous actress if he’s what you end up with?’ I’d rather just buy the book and have that nuzzle my neck…..

Good common sense, considering that the guy has 3 ex-wives. (Or is it 4?).

Normally, in most shots, SJ does look very attractive.

I just thought it was interesting to see her in this one where she is less so.

SOrry, but that entire album of hers is weak. Nice to Salman reppin, but I can’t suspend my distaste long enough to appreciate him.
