Nice looking gurdwara, how was the langar?
All gurdwaras in the UK are inner city. This reminds me of a gurdwara I went to in Kenya in the middle of the countryside, very peaceful and calm and beautiful, looks a little like the setting of this.
i was there just this morning for a marriage ceremony! it’s really nice up there…anyone know what else they’re building behind the gurdwara?
Langar was decent and spicy. It can’t be too good every day, right? Otherwise they’ll attract to many people looking for a free meal :)
They’re building the main prayer hall behind the gurdwara, they’re using the current wing only temporarily.
And occasional commenter!
Thanks for stopping by. Mama Vij is quite the character! Next time you’re in the Yay, we’ll be mobbin’ it deep at the Livermore mandir.
Wow ! Beautiful gurudwara ! Beautiful pictures too..
Ditto that… I had no idea! Thanks, Manish!
this is beautiful, I never saw a gurudwara before…love the pillars and the arches…
Golden temple in Amristar looks so beautiful in pictures, I hope to see it someday..
Bobby….was that the Gurdwara in Makindu? That place is truly surreal..
Makindu looks lovely. As it was, as it is.
Msichana, yes it was Makindu, and it is surreal and beautiful. You can see Mount Kilimanjaro, snow capped peak and all, on a clear day. Right in the middle of the East African bush, this gurdwara. For anyone vising the country either for safari or a beach holiday in Mombasa, if not visiting relatives, it is worth making a visit to.
Oh the Makindu gurdwara is lovely. I liked most of the gurdwaras I saw in Kenya.
San Jose Gurdwara is great and their vision for the building is so positive. Fremont is great, too, with respect to their community programming. :)
