The sport of kings

Winner Samantha di Paolo of Italy plays Rayleen Naransamy of South Africa

As we all know, desis and East Asians just love toy sports. If there’s a sport which involves little physical exertion, whether it’s ping pong, carrom board, PC gaming or (arguably) badminton, desis are all over it.

If we’re not going to win footie championships, we might as well start representing at the second tier. And that’s exactly what’s happening at the world foosball championships in the St. Vincent in the Italian Alps, where desis are representing. The entire South African roster is comprised of desi kids such as 20-year-old Rayleen Naransamy, along with nearly half the UK team.

As Russell Peters said:

Indian people were taken to South Africa as slaves. Who the hell uses an Indian slave? Do I look physically ready to do hard labour? My people don’t work that hard. Give us a calculator — we’ll do your taxes, man. [Link]

This is why software is booming in India: large numbers of middle-class kids with smarts, pudge and soft hands

You can’t possibly claim that Badminton involves little physical exertion, unless you’re talking about the “garden” version or the one played by little kids outdoors. Its a bloody tiring game, requiring a lot of skill, strength and stamina.

I have to admit that I am a super foosball player, We would cut school run down to the local cafe and play till the school bell signaled the end of the school day, then go home and claim it was a hard day at school! So its true, I am a lazy, brown, South Africa foos ball player! Hey I use to be a cheerleader, I didnt need to be good at sports! :)
