Time for a Little India run

This alert went out over the Mangoholics Anonymous Global Orgy network, a.k.a. my cousin:

Alphonso mangoes can now be seen at Indian grocery stores. Even at $35 a dozen, they are disappearing very quickly. Other Indian mango varieties are also in the aisles.

If you overlook the 500% markup (should be 300 rupees only, yaar), the king of mangoes is yours. And if the price is a bit rich, there’s always the old-skool option:

Air ticket from Bombay to New York: $800. Box of ten-rupee Frootis from Iselin: priceless. I’ve even got my Noo Yawk delivery wallas hooked on this stuff.

Funny. Frooti in New York, and me in New Delhi with only Maaza to quench my mango drink thirst. I think all the frooty has been sent to America.
